Without trust and safety, the opportunity for vulnerability, self-exploration, and deep insight is lost. One might say the entire coaching relationship lives on the foundation of Trust & Safety. Not surprisingly, it’s crucial to create rapport and a safe space where clients feel comfortable to dive below the surface. Getting to the underlying issues requires a deeply trusting relationship.

Together we’ll explore trusting the client and invite the client to lead the coach through the landscape of their experience. There will also be a demonstration of coaching. Coaches will be invited to name the development of awareness on how Trust and Safety inform all the other competencies.

Together, we’ll cover:

● The coach’s depth of connection to the client

● The coach’s depth of demonstration of trust in the client and the client’s processes of thinking, creating

● The neuroscience of psychological safety

● The coach’s willingness to be completely comfortable with their own authenticity with the client

About the Presenter - Lyssa deHart

Lyssa deHart, LICSW, MCC, author of StoryJacking: Change Your Dialogue, Transform Your Life, the Reflective Coach, and the soon to be released, Light Up: The Science of Coaching with Metaphors. Lyssa is the host of the Coaching Studio Podcast. She is a Confidence Coach, Certified Mentor Coach, Coaching Super-Vision Partner, ICF PCC Assessor, and coaching educator. Using her understanding of the ICF Core Competencies and her knowledge of neuroscience, Lyssa works with professional coaches to expand their capacity to partner with their clients through how they show up and hold the space for those with whom they work.
