The Practice of Presence

Even though staying grounded, open, and curious with our clients is what we set out to do, many of us struggle with our own thoughts, emotions, and somatic responses pulling us out of the moment.
Join MCC Laura Geduldig for our next CCE session to explore techniques for staying grounded, open, and curious through reflection, discussion, and somatic exercises.
-
Date: July 8
-
Time: 11:00 to 12:30 PM PDT
-
Topic: ICF Competency 5: Maintains Presence
-
Location: Virtual via Zoom
-
CCEs: 1.0 CC and 0.5 RD
During the session, Laura will guide us on maintaining presence in real-time coaching conversations through techniques, including the following:
-
Recognizing and regulating internal reactions (thoughts, emotions, and somatic cues) to remain grounded and fully present with the client
-
Utilizing silence, pause, and reflective space as intentional coaching tools to deepen client awareness and insight
-
Integrating practical and somatic-based techniques to sustain presence and effectiveness, especially when working with strong client emotions
Whether you are just getting started or hold an advanced ICF credential, this session will strengthen your capacity to stay present and support emergent, client-led exploration.
This session is part of our yearlong journey through the ICF competencies, building toward The Coaches Summit: A Playground of Possibilities on September 18.
All our CCE sessions provide the opportunity to learn with coaches from chapters across the US.
