ICF Competency 4: Build Connection, Foster Safety, and Cultivate Transformation with Debra Kopelman

Posted on May. 27, 2026  /  Event Spotlight  /  0

Supporting clients in expressing vulnerability without fear of judgment is central to confident, authentic growth. Many coaches believe they're doing this well, until they’re not.

Join us for a session featuring MCC coach Deb Kopelman. She will kick off with a live coaching demo. Together all attendees will discuss the demo, with time for self-reflection and an exploration into how to embody this competency with clients.

Date: June 24

Time: 12:30–2:00 PM PDT

Topic: ICF Competency 4: Cultivates Trust and Safety

Location: Virtual via Zoom

CCEs: 1.5 CCs

Deb will guide us through building long-term relationships grounded in authenticity and mutual respect. You'll explore how to:

  1. Create a psychologically safe space for honest reflection and dialogue

  2. Acknowledge client emotions while maintaining professionalism and compassion

  3. Support clients in expressing vulnerability without fear of judgment

Whether you hold an ICF credential or are an active practicing coach, the session strengthens the relational core of your coaching practice, where safety and trust unlock true transformation.

This session is part of our yearlong journey through the ICF competencies, building toward The Coaches Summit: A Playground of Possibilities in September 2026.

For the remainder of the year, our CCE sessions will be available to coaches from chapters across the US. We are excited for this opportunity to invite fellow coaches to learn together!
